Great bowling by Prashant Parameswaran and Vinay Kumar restricted Delhi to 140/6 and then attacking batting by McCullum and Patel took the game away from Delhi.
"Who is this guy?" asked Sehwag about Prashant and his team mates replied that he is a new guy who has just boarded the bus. Sehwag said that Prashant is a good find for Kochi and for India.
Prashant was hit for six by Sehwag but then he came back to take the edge of the Delhi marauder and Delhi had lost their prime batsman. Sehwag, who had scared Kochi with two fours off R P Singh, was back in the pavilion and Kochi had struck early. Naman Ojha hit Prashant for a six and a four. Warner's innings was needed by Delhi but he miscued Sreeshant and Delhi were two down. RP then took the wicket of Ojha and Delhi had lost 3 wickets for 40 odd runs.
It was left to V Rao and Nagar to retrieve the innings and 17 balls went without a single boundary. Then at 97, Nagar was out to V Kumar and Prashant came back to claim the prize wicket of Venugopal Rao, who was out for 40. The Delhi innings ended at 140.
Micheal Klinger and Brendon smashed the hapless Delhi bowlers to all parts of the ground and Kochi raced to 61/0 in quick time. Then McCullum was out to Morkel and Kochi were 61/1. Klinger was out at 71 to van der Merwe and then Parthiv Patel took over. Mahela was run out by Nagar and that was the last success which Delhi got, as Patel and Hodge took Kochi to victory. 140 was not a defendable total !
