Pune began well : Yuvraj

The maverick Yuvraj, captain of the Pune Warriors India, said that his team had begun well and is considered one of the favourites for the IPL Trophy.

I was more impressed by the performance and the mental state of the Warriors than victory. There was not enough time for the IPL teams to prepare. IPL teams are a mixture of different players from different countries and different states. So it will take time for them to jell as units. But then Pune shone like a lamp in darkness !

Our game plan worked against Punjab. Once we got Gilly and Marsh, we did not let them come back into the game. Thomas and Wagh bowled superbly. We chased 113 and even though we lost Smith cheap, Jesse Ryder and Manhas took us to safety.

On home ground, Pune take on Kochi Tuskers on Wednesday.

We will be giving a grand reception to Kochi outside the field. The very fact that Kochi lost the first game will make them thirsty for success and we are ready to take on a resurgent Kochi !
