Yuvraj, the true star : Gavaskar

To defeat India in India is not easy, as the Irish found it to their discomfiture.

The hour findeth the man and it was Yuvraj who was the man of the hour. He doesnt spin the ball much but is very accurate. Variations of pace and spin form his bowling style. He wrecked the Irish with a spell of 5/31 and then later on renounced his belligerence and played a solid 50 not to steer India home.

It was Sehwag against BD and Zaheer against the English. Cricket always produce Men of the Hour !

Pathan strode like a Colossus to deny the Irish victory. With Pathan in command, one felt that overtaking 300 was possible. Pathan came in when India were tottering at 167/5. Within the space of minutes he had changed the game, confirming his reputation as a game changer.

His three mighty sixes changed the atmosphere of the great Stadiu. He made victory easy, with a mighty swing for four !

But then it was Yuvraj who was doing the sheet anchor role and sheet anchor roles are very important.

Zaheer's bowling also evoked admiration. Pathan could not complete a catch off his bowling. But no problem as in next ball rattled the stumps of Stirling ! Zaheer is an intelligent bowler, he had sacrificed his pace for swing !

This is a great comeback by Yuvraj, as he was not amongst runs of late. He was instructions not to lose his wicket and play there till the end. He blocked the Irish attemps to create another upset.
