NZ surprised everybody : Hadlee

Sir Richard Hadlee opined that NZ suprised everyone and they continue as one of the most dangerous sides in the competition.

Their batting has depth. The lower order batsmen blasted the hapless Paki bowlers to all parts of the field. Nathan McCullum emulated his brother by blasting 2 sixes and big man Jacob Oram did the same.

With an emphatic win over Eng, NZ is storming into QF. Just see the way they built their innings. Very careful in the first 44 overs and then lofting, pulling and hooking the Pakis to all parts of the ground. Taylor hit eight fours and seven sixes, in a great display of batsmanship. With accurate bowling, they reduced Pak to 45/5 ! This is an all round performance worth lauding !

100 runs came from five overs and it was raining sixes at Pallekele !

What happened to the Paki yorkers ? Their bowling was substandard and one of worst exhibitions I had seen for years, said the formidable all rounder, Hadlee.

Pakis let go of two chances off Taylor, when Taylor was on zero. They had to pay a great price for that. Wides, noballs, fielding lapses, bad bowling, overthrows, pathetic batting.... with all these the Pakis were digging their grave.
